Bay Book Fest Haul

Hi guys! At the beginning of June, I had the opportunity to attend the Bay Area Book Festival. It took place in Berkley. It was so much fun, especially since I got to go with Alyssa and another one of my friends.

There were lots of cool exhibitors with tents set up, with things from Italian licorice to Harry Potter jewelry to free books! They were so much fun to explore. I think my favorite part of the festival was a book installation that was set up called Lacuna. It was made of donated books and you could take as many books as you wanted from it for free. Another highlight was I got the chance to meet several YA authors, like Suzanne Young, Jenny Han, Lauren Oliver, Morgan Matson, and Tamara Ireland Stone.

The Haul:
Okay, so I may or may not have managed to accumulate eleven books over the course of two days. Before you start hyperventilating, let me tell you that more than half of the books were free or discounted.

The first book I got was a Manga Sampler. They were being given out at a comic/manga booth set up near the teen stage, so I picked one up.

I already had a copy of The Program, so I bought the sequel and prequel as well. I didn't plan on getting them, but The Treatment was 20% off at Half Price Books and got The Remedy as well. I can't wait to marathon them all!

Every Last Word was officially published on June 16th, but it was being sold early at the festival because Tamara Ireland Stone was speaking there. I bought a copy and got it signed because it has been getting so many good reviews and I want to see what all the hype's about.

I don't really have a good reason for buying Roomies, other than I liked the cover, I've heard some good things about it, and it was nine dollars at Half Price Books.

I also bought Catching Fire for nine dollars at Half Price Books. It was in good condition and I didn't already own a physical copy, so I went ahead and bought it.

I also got My Life Next Door from Half Price Books and I found it in the bargain books section. Try to guess how much is was? TWO DOLLARS. TWO DOLLARS FOR A BEAUTIFUL HARDCOVER. #WINNING

There was a tent giving out free used books, so of course I swung by. I ended up getting Spirit Bound by Rachelle Mead. Even thought it's like, the fifth book in the series, I got it because I really want to read Vampire Academy and it was free.

From Lacuna, I got A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness and Stormdancer by Jay Kristoff. I've heard so many good things about A Monster Calls and Stormdancer has a gorgeous cover, so of course I snatched them up.

Okay, that's it for this post! I'll try my best to get another blog more soon!
