Yes, Reading Slumps Happen

Hey guys!
I'm here with a really different post. This post has a weird connection to books- what you should do when you're not reading. Because, yes, reading slumps happen. I've found myself in one recently. Whether it's my crazy schedule, the fact that I can't check out the 74 new books at my library, or just plain laziness (which occurs often) I'm falling deeper and deeper into a hole. But sometimes that happens. You just gotta deal with it.

Anyways, now that I've shared my life problems with you, on with the post! Basically, I've compiled up a giant list of things to do based off books that don't require actual interaction with books. Hopefully doing some of this stuff will inspire you to pick up a good book soon after.

TV Shows:
- Realistic Fiction -
If you like books such as The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian or Dead End In Norvelt
Watch ~ The Middle

These are about families who may be slightly dysfunctional but work together to overcome problems. They're also completely hilarious.

If you like books such as The Clique, To All The Boys I've Loved Before or Since You've Been Gone
Watch ~ Pretty Little Liars

These are all drama-filled with suspense and lots of romance.

-Science Fiction/Dystopian-
If you like books such as Virals, The Fifth Wave, or Unwind
Watch ~ Bones

These are all slightly creepy, and have stuff to do with forensics, people being used for strange purposes, and generally weird and scary stuff. Plus, Bones is actually based off Virals!

If you like books such as The Hunger Games or The Selection
Watch ~ The Bachelor

The Bachelor is basically a combination of The Hunger Games and The Selection. Fighting (almost, but not quite to the death) over a guy. Lots of drama involved.

-Historical Fiction-
If you like books such as the Lux series or A Great and Terrible Beauty
Watch~ Downton Abbey

Basically, all of these have fancy clothes, fancy homes, and lots of intrigue and suspense.

If you like books such as The Book Thief, Between Shades of Gray, or Code Name Verity
Watch~ Reality TV!

Hah! Got you there. These are super heavy, at times depressing reads. Take a break. Go watch some Dancing With The Stars or Toddlers With Tiaras. Disclaimer- They may scare you just as much. ;)

Other Stuff To Do-

There's tons of stuff to do other than watching TV. Go watch a movie interpretation of your favorite book, make dessert, or give yourself a book-inspired manicure! Tutorial to come soon.

Then go back and pick up that book you stopped halfway through. And reread it from page one. Until the very end.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I should get back to reading  slumping.
