Fandom News (4)

Hey guys! We're here with yet another Fandom News Post!

Kaylie mentioned in the previous Fandom News Post that Percy Jackson's Greek Heroes was going to be a thing. That thing just got a release date and a cover. Rick Riordan officially announced it on his Tumblr that the book will be released August 18, 2015! This book will follow a similar format as Percy Jackson's Greek Gods but instead, will center around the Heroes of Greece, not the Gods, obviously. You can also read more about it on Rick's blog.
Who cut off Medusa's head? Who was raised by a she-bear? Who tamed Pegasus? It takes a demigod to know, and Percy Jackson can fill you in on the all the daring deeds of Perseus, Atalanta, Bellerophon, and the rest of the major Greek heroes. Told in the funny, irreverent style readers have come to expect from Percy, ( I've had some bad experiences in my time, but the heroes I'm going to tell you about were the original old school hard luck cases. They boldly screwed up where no one had screwed up before. . .) and enhanced with vibrant artwork by Caldecott Honoree John Rocco, this story collection will become the new must-have classic for Rick Riordan's legions of devoted fans--and for anyone who needs a hero. So get your flaming spear. Put on your lion skin cape. Polish your shield and make sure you've got arrows in your quiver. We're going back about four thousand years to decapitate monsters, save some kingdoms, shoot a few gods in the butt, raid the Underworld, and steal loot from evil people. Then, for dessert, we'll die painful tragic deaths. Ready? Sweet. Let's do this.

Yay!! More Harry Potter is on the way. Turns out that Fantastic Beasts is going to be at least a trilogy!

Speaking of books to movies, a new Mockingjay teaser has been released. It features Lorde's new song Yellow Flicker Beat and it's the scene where Katniss returns to District 12.

Capitol TV is also releasing a new web series for Mockingjay! It's going to have five parts and will make up what's called District Voices. The videos will be released on various channels, but you can watch the first episode, which was on ThreadBanger and the official announcement video right here. You can also keep up with Captiol news here and read more deets about this web series.

The full soundtrack (well, except for track #5) of Mockingjay has been released!
It has songs from tons of great artists, including Lorde (duh!) Tove Lo, Charli XCX, and CHVRCHES.

This is totally un-book related, but really funny! Check out some Disney character instagram selfless.

Aaaand, the excitement is killing us! Here's another teaser for Mockingjay.

One more! This is definitely our lucky week. Unfortunately, it's the very last one, so we're all gonna have to hold out until November 21. My calender is looking a lot longer now...

More Harry Potter? Yes, please! This story is about Umbridge (AKA the most-hated villain ever) and is releasing on Halloween. October 31st just got a whole lot better, people.

Are you guys as excited for the movie release of Paper Towns? Based off an amazing John Green novel, this movie starrs Brit model Cara Delevigne and former TFIOS actor Nat Wolff. Here's a pic of the two spending some quality time together. (Speculating about a publicity stunt, perhaps?)

If you're a fan of Sarah J. Maas, like we are, here's some news! She announced on her blog that she did some interviews! These were posted on USA Today and Sugarscape which include some info on the upcoming TOG books! She also gave us access to the high resolution image of the cover of the first book in her new fantasy trilogy, A Court of Thorns and Roses! It's meant for a slightly older YA audience and will be published May 5th, 2015. Here's the synopsis if you're interested in reading it.
When 19-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.

As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she's been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow over the faerie lands is growing, and Feyre must find a way to stop it … or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.

That's it for this post!
