Fandom News (3)

Hey guys! So many things have happened these past 1 or 2 weeks from mysterious twitter anagrams to new books to film adaptions of books! Read about some of the bookish buzz from around the internet, right here in one post.

Anyone else stalk J.K Rowling's Twitter? If you do, you know she posted cryptic tweet that doubled up as an anagram:
And it's been solved!
The anagram is a preview of the opening plot of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The movie, I believe, is going to be set 70 years before Harry's time and will follow Newt Scamander on his adventure to find, well, fantastic beasts. However, a genius reader on Reddit saw that J.K's Tweet was also a perfect anagram for "Harry returns. Won’t say any details now. A week off. No comment." As you can expect, lots of fans started to freak out until they found out what the actual deciphering was. But hey, it's still pretty exciting.

Aaaand guess what Stephanie Meyer has to say about Twilight?

Do comic books count as books? For all you superhero fanatics, there's a new Flash!

Has anyone here read The Darkest Minds trilogy by Alexandra Bracken? You can read the first few chapters of the conclusion to the trilogy, In the Afterlight
Chapter 1 on Surviving College
Chapter 2 on Young Adult Mag
Chapter 3 on Hypable
The official book trailer for ITA was released on Just Jared Jr. today!

And also, some movie news! John Krokidas has been signed on as the director for the adaptation of Wonder by R.J. Palacio. I think it'll be interesting to how they decide to film the movie because a main part of Wonder is not knowing exactly what the main character, August looks like. You can read more about it here.

Hobbit fans! A new character posters of Gandalf and Legolas have been released for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, which hits theaters December 17.

James Dashner is planning to write a new prequel for The Maze Runner called The Fever Code. It is to be published in 2016 and will be about the Maze and how all the Gladers got there. You can read the exclusive on MTV.

On The Wrap, it has been announced that Austin Abrams, Halston Sage, Justice Smith have been added to the cast as Ben, Lacey, and Radar in the movie adaptation of Paper Towns!

I don't know about you, but I just finished The Blood of Olympus by Rick Riordan (review coming soon!) and I'm so excited for The Sword of Summer, which we mentioned in our previous Fandom News Post. And it just so happens that a new synopsis has been released!

Magnus Chase has always been a troubled kid. Since his mother's mysterious death, he's lived alone on the streets of Boston, surviving by his wits, keeping one step ahead of the police and the truant officers. One day, he's tracked down by an uncle he's never met—a man his mother claimed was dangerous. His uncle tells him an impossible secret: Magnus is the son of a Norse god. The Viking myths are true. The gods of Asgard are preparing for war. Trolls, giants and worse monsters are stirring for doomsday. To prevent Ragnarok, Magnus must search the Nine Worlds for a weapon that has been lost for thousands of years. When an attack by fire giants forces him to choose between his own safety and the lives of hundreds of innocents, Magnus makes a fatal decision. Sometimes, the only way to start a new life is to die . . .
The Sword of Summer is expected to be published October 6th, 2015. You can add it on Goodreads here. Also, in Blood of Olympus, it's been reveled that Magnus is Annabeth's cousin!

Rumor also has it, that while on tour, Rick Riordan announced he is working on Percy Jackson's Greek Heroes, which will be like a sequel to Percy Jackson's Greek Gods!

BIG NEWS, SHADOWHUNTERS! The Mortal Instruments will not continue as movies, but will officially return as a T.V. show! You can read all about it and watch a video right here.

Some cool new stills from Mockingjay have been released too! They feature Katniss, Coin, Cressida, Gale, and more. You can view them over on Page to Premiere.

That's it for this weeks post! Until next time!
